![]() ![]() The print spooler team did not work on this one, it's a reminent from 2003 specifications. I forgot who I contacted with regard to the erroneous information in the network port requirement article. The connection drops back to the 2003 behavior. You can roll the print server back to use only named pipes on port 445 communicating using the Server Service but this will slow down the initial communication to the spooler service on the high port range when Use netstat.exe to determine the current port the spooler is using. Normally the port used is under 52000 but this port will change, I'm sure you already noticed it is not 49159 all the time. When the print spooler starts up, it will open any port between 49152 – 65535 for communication with the client machine spooler. ![]()
